# Verify

> Every check Proofable can run, what each one proves, and whether you call it interactively or as a lookup.

Pick the check that matches your decision. Once it passes, the result is saved as proof, and the next decision reads that proof instead of asking again.

## How checks run

| Type | What happens | Examples |
| - | - | - |
| Interactive | The person completes a hosted step on Proofable: passkey, OAuth, or personhood. | `ownership-social`, `proof-of-human` |
| Instant | The account signs during the session. | `ownership-basic`, `agent-identity` |
| Lookup | Proofable reads live state. | `nft-ownership`, `wallet-risk` |

Most product gates start with interactive checks. Use instant and lookup checks when your rule needs them.

## What you get back

* A proof ID in `qHash`
* A `status` of `verified`, `processing`, or `failed`
* A proof page at `https://proofable.me/proof/{qHash}`
* A hosted link, only when the person must finish a step in the browser

When the status is `processing`, poll with `pollProofStatus` until it finishes.
